Thinking back on apex I felt like this was a great experience.   Not only am I ahead of my friends when it comes to college credits.. but I have learned how to be a college student. .I know that it takes hard work and determination. .going to college isnt easy..but with this program it really gives me a head start with my college education..

What do I want out of education

What I want out of education is to gain knowledge of things that I never knew of..I want to be able to expand my knowledge on not only the things I know but the tings I dont know as well.

Favorite moment in en1010

My favorite moment in en 1010 would be when we had to get into groups for our summary papers.  I wasnt really familiar with everyone in the class and my friends were already in a group and there group was full.. so I got to know new people who I never hung around before.. I think the most important thing I have learned is the variety of different papers we have learned to write..

Differances within drafts

There a differences that I have noticed within each sample essay. In the first sample it didnt have a strong thesis or details.  When it comes to essays 3 I think it has more detail and a strong thesis sentence.. I think sample 3 is better

friends

This summer i  have made friends  by not only talking to them but working together as well. when it came to the first few days i knew a few people because they went to school with them. As this program progressed i started to talk to more people because. i wanted to friendly. When my friends were all in a group together i was welcomed with open arms by other people that i didn't really know. This summer i have meet a lot of new people and i have had a lot of great times.

What was your drafting process like before this class? (7/31)

Before 7/31 my drafting process was pretty different. I would normally write things down as I read. I would then take the main ideas or points of whatever I am reading and there supporting details and put them in a outline form. Once I have put it into a outline form I then start my drafting process.

Rhet Comic

The Rhet comic starts off talking about ethos, pathos and logos. Ethos means ethics or ethical. Pathos means empathy or emotions. And logos means logical. To go into more detail ethos is credibility of the writer.Pathos are the emotions. And logos is the logics or more of the statics point of view. They also talk about Kairos. They also talk about Kalpos. It has two different meanings one meaning is to exact or critical time, season or opportunity. Another definition is due measure proportion or fitness. This comic talks about a lot of other things as well like  Aristotle, Rhetorical analysis and critical reading.

plagiarism

One of the most important things i learned about plagiarism would be that it could get you in a lot of trouble. If you plagiarize you could get kicked out of school.Depending on the teacher plagiarism could get you in a lot of trouble. If your teacher is nice enough they could just let you rewrite the paper over again. If the teacher is pretty strict about plagiarism then there is a possibility that you might have to talk to the dean of your school or you could get kicked out of school. either way plagiarizing is something you don't want to do...

The most useful advice

The most use advice that I have receive in this work shop would be to use more detail because when I summarize I need to put more detail in my summary. Overall this workshop experience was good because I got some useful advice on my summary.

First two weeks...

The first two weeks of the Apex summer bridge program have been pretty interesting. I have made a lot of new friends and it has been an adjustment. The first week of classes were pretty rocky because I didn't know what to expect.  The first week of Apex was pretty easy because we didn't get a lot of work. As the day's progress we received more home work that is expected to be due the next day. The second week has been interesting because of the amount of  work that has been given to us. We have also been studying every night  some people stay up to even one in the morning just working on work. There just giving us  a taste of what college is like. The first two weeks at the Apex program has been a real college experience.

Reading notes

The summary takes information from an original text and condenses it down into only important points required to understand the basics. Summaries represent a source text's main claim and supporting points.the purpose behind summary's is to represent a longer more detailed piece in a shorter form.they can vary in length from sentences to pages.the summary should never include the writer's personal opinion.a summary is important aspect of college level writing because it is an important part of the kind of thinking expected of college students its also important because it is a foundational genre of writing. You need to be able to write effective summary.effective summary in each instance depends on meeting the needs if a particular discourse community, genre and rhetorical situation.  The first step to summarizing would be to read the course carefully after reading you would need to consider the rhetonical situation of the summary.another option to compose a summary is known as getting the gist.

About me

Some of my favorite books would be The Skin I'm In by Sharen flake. Another book of my that is one of my favorites would be vanished by Meg Cobalt. What I hope to learn in this class would be to get better at my writing skills. I also want to  get better at my summarizing skills. My greatest strength as a writer would be pulling out the content that I want to write about and putting it into my own words. I use writing sometimes to express the way I feel. Writing can be very helpful sometimes.  A weakness for me when it comes to writing would be spelling. I'm very good at punctuation. I know that words have to be capitalized and where  apostrophe is suppose to go. Writing helps me out a lot sometimes. I'm good at putting things into my own words. I can read  something and put it in my own words. When it comes to summarizing and putting that into my own words can sometimes be difficult.  What I hope to get out of this class would be to get better summarizing skills and to improve my writing. When my writing becomes better it wont only help me in college but it will also help me later on in life.
